Essentials: Weekly Dancing Class in West Coast Swing

🩰 About West Coast Swing
West Coast Swing (WCS) is a smooth and playful partner dance that can be danced to almost any modern music from pop and R&B to blues and acoustic. It’s known for its relaxed connection, musical variety, and room for creativity. Whether you’re new to dancing or already have some experience, WCS offers a friendly way to move, connect, and enjoy music together.

🎶 Course Material
In the essentials course, you’ll learn the basic patterns of West Coast Swing and rhythm structures typical for this style. By the end, you’ll be ready to hit the social floor and dance with anyone to any music.

🏛 The Venue
The workshops take place at the Tanzzentrum am Wochenmarkt next to Göttingen city center. The venue has a dance floor with mirrors, rest zone, and rooms to change clothes. I personally admire the atmosphere there. ☺️

💃 What to Bring with You
Comfy clothes and no/low heel shoes. At the dance school, there are rooms to change before the class.
Important to know!
High heels are not allowed because of the dance floor material.

🧡 Meet Your Teacher
I’m Liubov (Luba) Vasileva. I’ve been dancing West Coast Swing for over 10 years and love combining it with elements from contemporary, jazz, and hip-hop. My favorite thing about WCS is musicality. I enjoy playing with the music, whether I’m dancing solo or with a partner.
🏆 My Dance Journey
Over the years, I’ve performed a Pro-Am routine (yes, my hair grew longer since that video ☺️) and competed in Jack & Jill competitions either as a follower or a leader. These experiences helped me grow as a dancer and inspired me to support others on their dance journey.
