Journal to Knowing Yourself, MARCH!

Details

All are welcome! Join us to talk about journaling experiences, share ideas, and get ideas from each other. Discuss the monthly prompts and share things you have discovered about yourself.

The first 10 minutes are devoted to a prompt and a short write. After the 10 minutes, everyone is invited to share their writing. It is not expected, just appreciated.

The discussion will flow from there into ideas, experiences, and Q&A.

Here are the prompts for this month to write on your own. You are welcome to share your writing with the group when we meet!

Prompts to write about now to discuss in March
You can choose from two different ones, or you can do both. It is up to you!

1. You are a storyteller.
Write about a time when you discovered an old journal at a yard sale.
You bought it for its cover (explain the cover, every detail) when you get home, you open the book, and to your surprise, a question forms on the page. Each day, the same thing happens: another question, sometimes different, sometimes the same. The script and style of writing may change from day to day.
What questions is the book asking you and why?
What does the writing style and script look like? Does it change with each question? Is it handwriting from anyone you know? If so, why is that person writing to you?
Answer the questions the book asks you in the story; do one a day or a week, You must answer at least 4 questions in detail. You must write a page at least for each answer.
Do the same questions keep coming up? What is that?

2. Alternative- processing unwanted change.
During times of change and upheaval, we often find ourselves overwhelmed by negative news, happenings, and unwanted outcomes. We can get stuck in this place of viewing the world as a hostile and negative place.

Use the following promotes to explore your feelings

What is your utopia?
What is your best outcome for 2025, and why?
How can you create some of that for yourself?
What can you control, and how will you make it happen for yourself in small ways?
What can you do to foster more joy and happiness in your life?
How can you participate in the change you want to see? Make it doable and possible, even if it is smiling more at strangers. How can you shift your reality into something you want to see?
How can you foster more community and connection?
What are the three main themes or things you feel the country, your community, or the world needs more of? How can you bring that to your own life?

Be kind to yourself. Don't pick something too grave unless you are ready to tackle it and have a support system to help you.

NOW, BE YOUR OWN CHANGE OUT THERE IN THE WORLD AND WRITE ABOUT IT!
