OVERVIEW:
Do you like piña coladas... and gettin' caught in the rain? Are you a fan of classic Yacht Rock, and the taste of champagne? Then let's meet Wednesday evening, and cut thru all this red tape. At a garden called Brookside, where we'll DANCE and escape... :) (Adapted with apologies to Rupert Holmes, LOL.)

Live outdoor music has returned to Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, MD this fall, and this week's installment features the band Loveboat Yacht Rock, a seven-member ensemble that serves up a sexy confection of danceable 70's and 80's soft rock. The concert takes place on the lawn behind the visitor center (1800 Glenallan Av, Wheaton, MD).

LOGISTICS:
Please RSVP here even if you've already signed up with another meetup group. That ensures you'll get a fun tropical floral lei. The band plays from 6 to 7:30 pm. Free parking is available, although the lot tends to fill quickly. You are strongly encouraged to arrive by 5:30 pm. Otherwise, you'll be directed to nearby neighborhood streets for parking. BRING A CHAIR or blanket for seating. Several food trucks will be on site, although they sometimes have long lines. You are welcome to bring your own picnic dinner. Restrooms will be open throughout the event.

FINDING US/GETTING LEI'D:
We typically sit about halfway back, to the left of the center aisle looking at the stage. Look for a goofy dude in a captain's hat wearing a crazy, blue-and-yellow Hawaiian shirt covered in tropical ducklings. That's PapaDuck! I cannot guarantee you a spot (seating space fills quickly), but I will have a free floral lei for you. Join us and let's spend the evening rocking the yacht together! :)
