About us
Are you thinking of making friends and extend your social circle by going volunteering, learning things, or doing good together? You are looking at the right place.
If you dig deeper, you will find us actually a social org :).
The things we do are very simple, meaningful things in beautiful settings, so connections happen organically, from shared purpose and experience.
-----------
We welcome all volunteers & friends to socialize, we also organize things our own:
- Friends Circle in the local festivals & cultural events, with chambers & cities
- Professional Circle in big professional / industry conferences and expos,
- Bonding Camp in outdoor volunteering & other socials, with parks & nonprofits
- Growth Cells, improvement & skills, social with purpose
- Hosting Crew, doing things together while making friends, our building block.
So we usually volunteer together and organize socials in big events, for the general community; we also organize bonding camps and growth cells for ourselves, aiming to create long lasting connections through intense interactions in purposeful activities. Volunteering gets us inside door, growth bonds us together. We cooperate with all kinds of orgs across town. So you will go places and meeeeet people, all kinds again, with us.
Community involvement gives us belonging & bonding. So if you are going through life stage changes, you could take good use of these activities, find your people, (re)build your network, and settle here as your new home base,
For the curious ones, you can enter by connection circles at big events. For the braver ones, try bonding camps. For the warm hearted and aspirational ones, volunteer and come help with facilitation with us, the fastest way to be known. We are cultivating hosting crews in all the activities we do, so you can help out, be a member of a small team, make friends with your fellow crew while doing something useful to the community.
With our volunteer root, we run on people stepping up themselves. If you see something, then let it be known, we can do something together. We want to create connections that last, have people be seen, having a role within the community. We provide the platform and mechanisms, you come here to find your people, build the network you needed, together, make things better, yours and others. No charisma required. A warm heart, a willingness to try will do.
------------
We cooperate with many orgs around town, including other meetup groups, so sign up our events wherever you see them. And pass the words around.
So our goal? A gateway to local community social, a connection layer to community events, a student activity center for post-college life, a social engine for connections, a town square for professionals. Oh, have we mentioned some salt? :)
Join an event. Introduce yourself. Find your people. Build the belonging you have been waiting for.
At the end of day, we want to provide belonging, warmth, shared purpose, a human face that says "you're welcome here."
So, Welcome aboard :)

https://www.forbes.com/sites/forbesbooksauthors/2024/04/17/the-true-value-of-your-professional-circle/
As a community org, we have always positioned us to help people in transition phases of their life, new comer, career starter/switcher etc.. There is no bigger transition than the coming AI wave. So we are going to start here.
The main theme of this series is to Share and Learn, from other professionals, build connections that could really help you. GDC, GTC and RSA are all happening in March, TDX, HumanX and Stripe conferences are happening next month, welcome to join us to discuss your findings & interests also.
So we are going to start with an early evening light dinner / drink, exchange stories on a picked topic each time, talk about our work and life, as true human beings. There are many professional networking in the valley, so are the social parties. We try to strike a balance here, so to impress others with your professional capabilities, ideas and plannings, then go social on top of that.
After this light circle social, we are taking a walk through Mountain View downtown to the Civic Plaza, and have a light group chat over the wooden lawn chairs there. People can make after event social plans.
Also as a tradition, we would jump start the series, and have participants help decide the formats and direction. As this is a new series, come with your proposals and topics and help shape it. Yes, we will recruit rotating host pairs, as in many of our other activities. We are all volunteers, so build it together with us. We set up the stage, you come to shine.
Topic of the first session -- Transition in AI times
Prepare a story that you can share with others how AI is changing your life. To give it a start, I am going to bring a book, and talk about that AI makes character change possible, as described in the book.Be it that you are an industry veteran, early in career or fresh in town, welcome to share your ideas and stories. Think it as a Saloon for Professionals. You may really make some useful friends here.
