Who:
If you have volunteered anywhere last year, or interested in or planning to do so this year, not necessarily with us, you are welcome to join us, bring your friends. This is meant for volunteers, alumni and friends to reconnect with each other, enjoy the great coastal outdoor, learn some knowledge about marine life, and may be foraging of tide pool as well. Family friendly, so you are welcome to bring friends and family along.

If you are in transitional phases of life, such as new comer, job seeker, young professional, relationship changes etc etc and would like to do something to help other fellows as well, we welcome you. Beyond doing social volunteering ourselves, TownFlame also takes on organizing community social for people in transitional phases of life. Ask about the self-help/mutual help Social Committee.

Things we are going to do on site:

  1. Basic tide pool life intro -- sea anemone, squids, seals, eels etc.
  2. Mollusks you can collect from tide pool, and related rules -- Mussels, Snails, Sea Urchins etc.
    3. Variety of sea weeds and their suggested recipes -- kelp etc.
  3. Equipment intro and related rules.
    5. Onsite crabbing demo etc.

For people who want to bring some catch/harvest home, you need to buy a license at: https://wildlife.ca.gov . You can observe first, then decide what to do next. Prepare a pair of water resistant glove, and/or a bucket. We are going to hold a series of such events up and down the coast, so your investment won't be wasted.
