About us
Welcome to Global Social Entrepreneurs: AI, Tech & Startup Founders.
We are opening a new chapter for this established Social Entrepreneurs community: connecting people around the world through online conversations about technology, startups, AI, entrepreneurship, and positive social impact.
Our purpose is to help members meet useful collaborators, exchange practical experience, improve ideas, and build ventures that create value for people and communities.
Our existing members, relationships, and social entrepreneurship roots remain central to this community. Founders, technologists, social entrepreneurs, community builders, business owners, mentors, and curious newcomers are all welcome, wherever you live and whatever stage your project has reached.
What we would like to build together
- Founder conversations about real customer problems, business models, and lessons from building a venture.
- Startup and prototype demos with constructive feedback from other members.
- Practical discussions of AI, technology, and tools for startups, small businesses, and social ventures.
- Connections between potential collaborators, co-founders, mentors, and people with complementary skills.
- Conversations about technology that serves communities and creates positive social impact.
These are the formats we are proposing for the next chapter. Member feedback and volunteer hosts will help determine which sessions we introduce first.
Global participation, primarily online
Our new activities will focus primarily on online participation across countries and time zones. Sessions will generally use English, with the language, time zone, joining instructions, and named host shown on each event page.
We intend to preserve the existing third-Sunday community networking tradition at 1:00 PM U.S. Eastern Time, in coordination with the existing hosts. New AI, technology, and startup sessions will be scheduled separately. Please check the individual event page for confirmed arrangements.
How should this group develop? We want your opinions and discussion.
What would make this community useful enough for you to participate? Which parts of the original group should we preserve? Which topics, event formats, or projects would you like to introduce? What should we change, and what should we avoid?
Please share your suggestions, questions, and differing views in the group discussion, or message the Organizer directly on Meetup. Help us decide the direction together. A short reply is welcome.
Active members wanted: co-organizers, hosts or moderators, and startup presenters — please reply.
We are looking for members who would like to take an active part in this next chapter:
- Co-organizers: coordinate a session, help shape the calendar, find speakers, or develop a useful event format.
- Online hosts and moderators: lead a conversation, welcome participants, manage introductions and timing, and encourage thoughtful participation.
- Startup presenters: introduce a startup, prototype, social venture, or early idea and tell members what feedback or collaboration you need.
You can begin with one session. A possible first contribution is hosting a 60-minute discussion or giving a five-minute project introduction followed by feedback.
If you are interested, please reply with your preferred role, topic or project, relevant experience, time zone, and availability. You may also recommend someone who would be a good host or presenter.
Our aim is to build a community where members can lead sessions themselves. The Organizer will support direction, planning, and coordination; each event will have an agreed host responsible for running it.
How we work together
Be welcoming and respectful. Explain what you are building, what you can contribute, and what help you need. Make room for different perspectives and useful feedback. Keep project presentations focused on learning and collaboration. Ask before sending promotional messages, and obtain participants' consent before recording or sharing personal information.

Express what you are enthusiastic about to the co-organizers and follow-up after the face-to-face interactions at these events.

We appreciate the outstanding volunteer Allies Team of Allies Building Community Inc. (ABC) and members of AlliesDC community builders who produce this community event each month. We also appreciate for their efforts and contributions to help make this possible in the DC area.
These 3rd Sunday monthly events are opportunities for people in the greater Washington DC area to make new contacts and develop new friendships. They are also a way to develop new friendships and trust by enjoying stimulating conversations and by working together on community projects to achieve shared aspirations. There will be a round of self-introductions to the group at 1pm. After 2:30pm, feel free to stay for more one-on-one question/answer exchanges.
This is a wonderful time for social entrepreneurs and "changemakers": interest rates are low, people have time and are motivated to invest in themselves, build new and mutually beneficial relationships, start new social venture projects together or build their businesses. Many investors regularly attend our monthly meetings. They are looking for suitable people to collaborate with or invest in. These 3rd Sunday community events are enjoyable ways to get to know each other better each month.
See you on 3rd Sundays at 1pm. Nonprofit volunteers have been organizing these each month since 1997. The events are being held at the same time and place each month for your convenience. Save the 3rd Sunday of each month for more joy, friendship and prosperity!
Please invite your new contacts to meet you at this community event on 3rd Sundays noon. It is a good way to followup, develop community support or "citizen base", connect with new prospective clients and align with mutually supportive friends and allies for personal, economic and community advancement! For more background on the nonprofit collaborative visit: http://www.archway2.org We appreciate everybody's contributions and volunteer efforts to continue these networking events in Downtown, Washington D.C. $5 optional donation goes to charity (501c3). Thank you for your support! This event is open to the public.
NOTE: We are looking for web, mobile, technology and social entrepreneurs to collaborate on social entrepreneurial and infrastructure projects for the public good. We also wish to acknowledge the fabulous technology platform and support assistance from Meetup.com headquarters team! If you have some time to invest in yourself and your community, ask the co-organizers about rare and extraordinary opportunities available for a limited time near GWU (George Washington University)/West End.
Please come and team up with other "changemakers" and social entrepreneurs looking for revenue sharing partners! It will be fun and stimulating! This is the same leadership team who co-developed the Friendship Archway monument (the photo you see for this group) at 7th and H Street NW, DC, next to the Chinatown exit of Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro Station. They have also pioneered many other successful social entrepreneurial projects. We look forward to see you on 3rd Sundays at 1pm. Volunteers show up by 12:40pm to help setup. Thank you for your ongoing support for the nonprofit community service fund to support investments in your Self and in your community for a better future for all!
