What we’re about
We believe that the best way to enjoy meetup activities is to break them down into individual experiences. Our goal is to encourage you to savour the adventure that resonates with you. We work with the mindset that you should treat yourselves to an experience of not overindulging but savouring the moments. Each event is like a tasting menu that keeps you coming back for more.
WHY
We believe that everyone should feel comfortable being their true selves when they’re with us. Our events are designed to help you discover what speaks to you and motivate you to be active and inquisitive. We hope to inspire you to re-examine what it means to have a meaningful event experience.
How
Each event is divided into two categories: content and experience. We celebrate underdogs in our content category, those who have amazing stories that you would never expect.
Our experience category is all about style and variety. We use a range of activities to get you to engage in unexpected ways. You never know what you’ll discover!
The common thread of all our events is passion. We believe that people are most attracted to an infectious passion.
There is a membership fee of $6 per month. There is also a 90-day or 3-month trial period for trying out the group’s activities. You can also request a refund through Meetup afterward.
The trial period allows you to see the value of your membership and the benefits of active participation within the group.
So come join us and let’s explore together!

See all- Film Screening: Two Refusals (Would We Recognize Ourselves Unbroken?)Hugh Lane Gallery, County Dublin
Join us for a screening of Two Refusals (Would We Recognize Ourselves Unbroken?), (35 minutes); by Suneil Sanzgir which is part of the on-going programme Film Takes: Artist Cinema at Hugh Lane Gallery. This film screening is in tandem with the exhibition Ailbhe Ní Bhriain: The Dream Pool Intervals, with an introduction and post-screening Q+A with Film Curator Alice Butler.
“Two Refusals (Would We Recognize Ourselves Unbroken?)” is an experimental film focusing on interwoven narratives around the mutual struggle against Portuguese colonialism between India and Africa and the bonds of solidarity that developed between the two continents. Told through a mix of interviews and fictional narratives, Two Refusals utilizes a blend of CGI animation, super 16mm film, hand-processed and destroyed archival film to uncover lost layers of world-building, kinship, and the material and immaterial network of relations that developed between historical figures in Goa, Mozambique, Angola, and Guinea-Bissau.
A woman’s dreams become haunted by a mythological titan from Portuguese mythology called the Adamastor—a giant storm cloud formed on the Cape of Good Hope who sought to destroy Vasco de Gama’s ship and prevent him from ever reaching India. Repurposed from Portugal’s oldest work of epic poetry, Os Lusíadas, the Adamastor becomes a figure of refusal but also of failure to ultimately pose the question, “What could have been?”
