Hello and welcome everyone we are doing a free, no-pressure picnic in the heart of the city, designed specifically to welcome everyone to our brand-new community. Whether you've lived in Cardiff for years or just arrived, this is the official "hello."
​No awkward name badges. No forced icebreakers. No agenda. Just good food, great weather (fingers crossed), and a crowd of people who are all starting this journey at the same time.
​Bute Park is the backdrop. The Taff and the Castle walls are doing the heavy lifting. All you have to do is show up.
​🍔 WHAT TO EXPECT
​Bring your own food and drinks — burgers, halloumi, veggie patties, and all the sides.
​Games provided — we've got the essentials covered to break the ice.
​Drop-in format — come anytime across the 2-hour window. Stay 20 minutes or the whole afternoon — totally up to you.
​Relaxed & social — this is genuinely just a big picnic to get this group moving. No pressure to be anything other than yourself.

​We’ll be set up on the large lawn area near Brodies Coffee Co (the one built into the castle wall). It’s central, easy to find, and close to the Westgate Street entrance.

​💬 A NOTE FOR NEW & NERVOUS MEMBERS
​This isn't a networking event dressed up as a picnic — it's the real thing. Since the group is brand new, everyone is in the same boat. There's no schedule to stick to, no requirement to socialise beyond your comfort level, and absolutely no pressure to be "on".
​Bring a blanket if you've got one. Bring a friend if you want backup. Or just bring yourself — that's more than enough.
