Join Carlos and Ante for a relaxed Friday evening at Bačva Pub in the heart of Rijeka.

Whether you live in Rijeka, are visiting Croatia, have recently moved to the area or simply want to meet some new people, you are very welcome to join us.

Rijeka is Croatia’s third-largest city and its principal seaport, located on beautiful Kvarner Bay. Unlike some of Croatia’s more tourist-oriented coastal destinations, Rijeka is known for its authentic local character, university community, alternative culture and lively social scene.

ABOUT THE VENUE

Bačva Pub is a casual and friendly bar in the city centre, just a short walk from Korzo, Rijeka’s main pedestrian promenade.

The pub offers a large selection of Croatian and international beers, as well as coffee, whisky, gin and traditional local spirits. It has both indoor seating and an outdoor terrace and regularly hosts music, DJs, pub quizzes and sports screenings.

ABOUT THE MEETUP

This is an informal social gathering with no complicated programme. The idea is simply to have a drink, enjoy some good conversation and meet people from different backgrounds in a welcoming atmosphere.

You are welcome to come alone. Many people attending social events do not know anyone beforehand, and Carlos and Ante will help with introductions so that everyone feels included.

English will be our main shared language, but people of all nationalities and language levels are welcome.

The organised part of the meetup will run from approximately 7:00 to 9:00 pm.

OPTIONAL NIGHT OUT AFTERWARDS

At around 9:00 pm, we will decide together what we feel like doing next.

Those who wish can remain at Bačva Pub, which stays open late on Fridays. Depending on the mood of the group and what is happening in the city that evening, we may also explore some of the nearby bars around Korzo and Rijeka’s Old Town.

This second part is completely optional and will be spontaneous rather than a formally organised pub crawl.

• Everyone pays for their own drinks.
• Food is not advertised as a main offering, so it is advisable to eat beforehand.
• Please RSVP only if you genuinely intend to come.
• If your plans change, update your RSVP so that someone else can take your place.
• We will post our exact table location in the event comments shortly before 7:00 pm.
• Please drink responsibly and arrange safe transportation home.
