Bury St Edmunds day trip by train

Join us for a relaxed day trip by train to Bury St Edmunds, travelling from Norwich with a change at Stowmarket. Overall journey time of approx one hour. Meet at the station. Exact time to be announced once train timetable is confirmed.

It’s market day, so we’ll have plenty of time to browse the stalls before exploring this lovely historic town.

We’ll take a leisurely wander around as many below as we have time to see…

• ⛪ St Edmundsbury Cathedral
• 🌿 The beautiful Abbey Gardens and medieval abbey ruins
• 🏘️ Angel Hill and the historic streets
• 🏛️ Moyse’s Hall Museum, for anyone who fancies a look inside

🍽️ Lunch: We’ll stop at a pleasant, reasonably priced café/restaurant in the town centre. Will add details once numbers are confirmed.

🚆 Travel: Train from Norwich, changing at Stowmarket
🚶 Walking: Relaxed pace, with plenty of stops — the main sights are close together. About a mile walk from station to middle of town.
