Sprout Up September

Sprout Up is a monthly event for forward-thinking entrepreneurs to gather and mind-meld. A great chance for startups to get friendly, discuss current trends, and network in a casual, open, and focused setting. Sprout Up events have been held in cities around the world including Toronto, Montreal, NYC and London, and regularly have over 300 attendees.

Join us for the first Fall Sprout Up event here in Toronto! We’re excited to welcome guest speaker Marc Gingras. Marc founded the Tungle Corporation in 2006, and served as CEO until its acquisition by RIM in 2011.

Tickets are $12 for this event - you must buy a ticket to attend and space is limited, so grab one while they're available! We will sell out, and we can't always accommodate everyone on the waiting list. We're also trying to relevantly recommend people to meet at Sprout Up, so when you register you'll be asked to answer a couple questions so we can make a relevant connection. These answers will appear on your nametag.

More about guest speaker Marc Gingras:

Marc Gingras is a serial entrepreneur. He founded Tungle Corporation in 2006 and served as its Chief Executive Officer until its acquisition by Research In Motion in 2011.

Previously, he served as Vice President of Product Management and Marketing at Nimcat Networks, Inc. until its acquisition by Avaya (http://www.avaya.com/usa/) in September 2005. Marc also served as a venture capitalist with Innovatech Montreal (http://www.innovatechquebec.com/www/index.html), where he oversaw investments in numerous telecommunication and software companies.

He is actively involved as a board member with Sopar (http://www.sopar.ca/), a non-for-profit organization focused on helping the poor in India. Marc holds an INSEAD MBA, a Masters degree in Management Sciences from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ottawa.
