Day Out - Fitzroy Falls, Twin Falls, The Grotto, Wildflower Track & Lookouts 🌈

🗓 DATE: Sunday, 28 December 2025.
⏰ MEETING TIME: 10am.
⏰ DEPARTURE TIME:: 10.10am.
🚗 MEETING POINT: (start & finish) Fitzroy Falls Visitor Centre - at the main entry opposite the toilets.
🚙 $4 National Park entry parking fee per car per day.

🥾 DISTANCE: 11.5km return.
🥾 GRADE: Moderate on a steady pace.
💪🏽 Reasonable fitness recommended due to uneven rocky surfaces, creek crossings, stair climbs, rocks scrambling and a bit of bush bashing at few sections. Tracks expected to be wet, muddy and slippery in parts.

📸 WHAT TO EXPECT:
🚶‍♂️We will meet at 10am in front of Fitzroy Falls Visitor Centre to start our exciting first walk - Fitzroy Falls, Twin Falls including Grotto and Renown Lookouts via West Rim Track in Morton National Park with lots of photo stops and selfies.
🚶‍♂️Once we finish this spectacular walk, we will walk back to the Visitor Centre for another exciting walk - East Rim and Wildflower Walk for another selfies and photo session.
🚗 Once we finish this beautiful walk, you may stop by at award winning Robertson Pie Shop before heading home.

🦘You may visit Kangaroo Valley village centre for a meal or a drinks.
🍺 The Friendly Inn pub is highly recommended.
🥧 Perhaps you may try homemade gelato, meat pies or browse around the tourist trap shops or walk along most photographed castle-like Hampden Bridge on the way home.

🎒WHAT TO BRING:
👕 Comfortable outfit for the weather preferably hiking gear. Jeans or cotton t-shirt may not be suitable in warm weather.
🥾 Waterproof hiking boots or good grip walking shoes highly recommended due to muddy tracks and creek crossings.
💦 At least 1.8L of water and Hydralyte.
🥪 Snacks and packed lunch.
🧢 Hat, sunscreen and insect repellent.
⛑ Basic First Aid kit - BandAid, bandages, antibacterial wipes, pain reliever and hand sanitiser.
🧥Light raincoat or a poncho just in case of wet weather.

🚗 NOTE: NO public transport to/from the meeting point.

🗓️ Please organise your transport at least few days in advance, not at the last minute!

🏃‍♂️ Please leave home with plenty of time and arrive promptly, taking into consideration for holiday traffic etc. We don’t wait for late comers!

📝 FYI - i’ll be away camping that weekend at Kangaroo Valley with very limited phone reception.
