🚗 Day Out - Hanging Rock, Anvil Rock & Wind Eroded Cave ⛰️🚶‍♂️🧗🏻‍♂️ 🧺 🌿🍂

🗓 DATE: Sunday, 4 October 2026.
⏰ MEETING TIME: 10.55am - late start!
🚆 MEETING POINT: (start & finish) Blackheath station at the carpark, Station Street entry/exit.

🥾 DISTANCE:
🚶12 km return from/to Hanging Rock Parking Area to/from Hanging Rock Lookout.
🚶‍♂️OPTIONAL - short walk about 1 km return from/to the carpark to Anvil Rock Lookout and Wind Eroded Cave.
🚗 NOTE - a car is required to reach these places. Long way to walk to all of them from the station!
🥾 GRADE: Moderate on a relaxing pace, not snail pace!
💪🏽 Reasonable fitness recommended due to uneven rocky surfaces, ups and downs hills, stair climbs and a bit of rock scramblings.
💪🏽 Tracks expected to be wet, muddy and slippery at few sections.

📸 WHAT TO EXPECT:
🚆8.24am - train departs Central, arrives at Blackheath station at 10.52am.
🚗 10.55am - meet at Blackheath station carpark, Station Street entry/exit.
ℹ️ Meet and greet and short briefing, car pooling arrangement etc.

🅿️ 11.15am - meet in front of the gate at Hanging Rock Parking Area, Ridgewell Road (refer photo no. 3 - Burramoko Fire Trail) about 1.5km or 5 minutes drive from Blackheath station.
🚶‍♂️We will begin our adventure to Hanging Rock, about 12km return from/to the parking area.

🚶‍♂️The walk is fairly easy/moderate mainly on management trails with a fantastic gorge views along Burramoko Ridge (Hanging Rock) trails, in the Grose Wilderness of Blue Mountains National Park.
🤳 This walk is a relaxing day out on a spectacular Baltzer Lookout, with amazing views over the valleys and plenty of photo opportunities.
🧺 We will have BYO lunch at the Hanging Rock whilst soaking up the views. 🥪🧃

🧗🏻‍♂️ If you wish to walk to the end of Hanging Rock, please be aware that you will need to leap over an 80cm gap that plummets down over 20m that separates Hanging Rock from the main cliff!

📝 OPTIONAL - Anvil Rock Lookout and Wind Eroded Cave.
🚗 About 9km (one way) or 15 minutes drive from Hanging Rock Parking Area and Blackheath station to Anvil Rock Lookout and Wind Eroded Cave.
🤳 We will spend time for photos and selfies at both places (about 200 metres from each other from the carpark) with awesome views before heading home via Blackheath station.

❎ NO facilities on the trails, please come well prepared.
❎ NO smoking of any kind on the walk including during photo stops or lunch break.
✅ Please be mindful and respectful to members and guest/s from diverse backgrounds. This is not a dating event.

❎ Late cancellation or No Show would not be tolerated. You will forfeit the opportunity to join my future events!

🎒WHAT TO BRING:
👕 Comfortable outfit for the weather preferably hiking gear. Jeans or cotton t-shirt is not suitable for this walk.
🥾 Waterproof hiking boots, good grip walking shoes or trail runners highly recommended.
💦 At least 1.8L of water, Hydralyte or sports energy drinks.
🥪 Snacks and packed LUNCH.
⛑ Basic First Aid kit.
🧢 Hat, sunscreen, insect repellent and hand sanitiser.
🧥 Light raincoat or a poncho just in case of wet weather.
🤩 Great sense of fun and adventure.
