SOWW Literary Conversations: An Evening in Conversation with Dana Alsamsam ✨
Join the Society of Women Writers for a conversation with professional book editor and poet Dana Alsamsam.
In this online moderated conversation, we’ll explore one of the most important questions writers face: When is a manuscript truly ready?
Dana Alsamsam is a professional book editor and published poet who helps writers bring their manuscripts to life across a wide range of genres, including literary fiction, memoir, poetry, and more. With over a decade of editorial experience, she has worked in publishing and literary spaces, including roles with respected presses and literary journals. Today, she works directly with authors to refine their prose, strengthen their storytelling, and bring their manuscripts fully to life through developmental, line, and copy editing. Dana holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College completed on a full fellowship. Her creative work has been supported by fellowships and scholarships from The City of Boston Arts & Culture, Vermont Studio Center, Lambda Literary, and more. Her poems have appeared in The Georgia Review, The Massachusetts Review, Poetry Daily, North American Review, and The Common, among others.
Whether you are early in your writing process or preparing to submit your manuscript, this session offers a thoughtful look into the editorial perspective behind strong, submission-ready work. The conversation will be followed by a live audience Q&A.
This is a virtual event 💻. Instructions for the Zoom link will be provided in your confirmation email after registration.
