Field Trip: Tasveer Film Festival 2025 (Saturday)

Join us for two days of movie magic at the 2025 Tasveer Film Festival! Saturday's schedule is full of great shorts and features worth both your time. You are welcome to join the AM, PM, or both sessions. Choose your own adventure based on your interests/availability, and stay for lunch/dinner if you can! Our pared-down TFF schedule centers around the Tasveer Film Center in Columbia City. It is a short walk from the Columbia City 1 Line station, and close to the 7/9/50/106 bus stops. We will meet at the front of the building before we head out for each activity.
Below is our tentative schedule. Ignore the default attendees on Meetup and please RSVP on Eventbrite if you will be attending!
Saturday, October 11 - AM (optional)
- 11 am: brunch at Geraldine's Counter
- 12 pm: Echoes of Earth: The Mother, The Sons, and the Holy River
- 2 pm: Life at Crossroads or Resilience & Reinvention. Alternatively, lunch from PCC / Spice Waala / Billiard Hoang
Saturday, October 11 - PM
- 4:15 pm: Hidden Desires or Aging, Care, and Defiance
- 6:30 pm: Queer Horizons: Stories of Love and Belonging or Beneath The Surface
- 9 pm: dinner and discussion at Taco City Taqueria (optional)
Note 1: You are responsible for purchasing your own tickets to each TFF screening you choose to attend. General Admission is $17 and student tickets are $14 for each session. Since Tasveer and TFF support rising filmmakers and provide "a platform for South Asian storytellers from across the globe to showcase their talent", we will not screen the 2025 TFF virtual program as part of SOCSA FC's monthly screenings.
Note 2: SOCOSA FC and the event organizers are not affiliated with either Tasveer or the Tasveer Film Festival. This event is simply an opportunity to gather and celebrate the work of South Asian filmmakers!
