Chaat and Chats: Valentine's Day edition
Details
This Valentine's Day we're diving into two films about intercaste romance and love from the last decade: Sairat (2016, Marathi) and Dhadak (2018, Hindi). These critically acclaimed films follow a long tradition of cinema about the complexities of inter-caste romance and have influenced recent interpretations such as Pariyerum Perumal (2018, Tamil) and Dhadak 2 (2025, Hindi). We'll then meet up for chaat and chats - about these movies or otherwise - at Bombay Bistro in Redmond. Hope you can join us!
Note: I'll make a reservation depending on the event headcount on 2/15, so please make sure your RSVPs are updated. Also, please note that this is not a movie screening! We will gather after watching these films independently (or not - you are welcome to show up anyway and catch up on these films later!).
