The topic of this Session
John Locke - "Wherever Law ends, Tyranny begins"
Quotes means that without fair, enforceable laws, those in power can act arbitrarily and oppress others. Locke argued that law protects individual rights (life, liberty, property) and prevents abuse by rulers or governments.
When laws are ignored, weakened, or applied unfairly, tyranny—unchecked power and injustice—takes over.
Why it matters today:
Democracies rely on the rule of law to limit power and protect rights.
Without it, corruption, authoritarianism, and oppression thrive (e.g., dictatorships, discriminatory regimes).
Citizens must hold leaders accountable when laws fail to serve justice.
In short: Law is the guardrail against tyranny; remove it, and freedom is at risk.
