Date & Time:
Monday, June 9th, 12:00 PM
Location: The Hideaway, Chiang Mai
Description:
Hi everyone,
Meetup.com recently contacted me to say that unless someone takes over, Socrates Café Chiang Mai will be archived and closed. I’ve accepted the role of organizer—not just to preserve it, but to invite all of you into the conversation about what this group should become.
📍 Join me on Monday, June 9th at 12:00 PM for brunch at The Hideaway, where we’ll hold an open and informal stakeholder session about the future of this philosophical gathering.
My name is Steven. I have a PhD and several patents in sustainable materials and technology. I also lead the Chiang Mai Professionals, Expats, and Digital Nomads community, which has grown steadily over the past three years through WA-based meetups and events.
This session isn’t about lectures—it’s about listening.
What kind of philosophical dialogue do people in Chiang Mai need today?
Should the Socrates Café meet weekly, monthly, or in new formats?
What topics are most pressing and valuable to explore?
How can we welcome both newcomers and long-time thinkers into this space?
This brunch is an opportunity to co-create a vision for meaningful dialogue in a city full of diverse minds and transient lives.
🗣 No background in philosophy required—just your thoughts, experiences, and questions are enough.
Food and drinks available at the venue. Let’s sit down, share a meal, and reflect together on how Socrates Café can evolve.
