About the Event: Imagine the perfect tutor sitting quietly at the back of the classroom, holding the answers to almost any problem you could fathom. All you have to do is walk up and ask.
Yet, most people won't.
This is the emerging reality of the AI era. We have built systems capable of providing infinite, instantaneous answers, but we are discovering a fundamental flaw in the human equation: technology cannot manufacture motivation. Having an oracle in our pocket is useless if we lack the foundational knowledge, the critical thinking skills, and the intrinsic curiosity required to formulate the right questions.
In this Socrates Café session, we will look critically at the modern learning landscape and the so-called "AI bubble." We will explore what happens when we outsource our inquiry, and whether the convenience of instant answers is quietly eroding our capacity to grapple with complex problems.
Questions We Will Explore:

  • The Knowledge Gap: Do we need to struggle through foundational learning just to know what we don't know?
  • The Motivation Crisis: Why doesn't the sheer availability of information make us more eager to learn?
  • The Illusion of Competence: Are we confusing the ability to generate an answer with the ability to understand a concept?
  • The Future of Inquiry: How do we cultivate genuine curiosity in an environment engineered for frictionless convenience?

Join us for an open, intellectually honest dialogue as we unpack the psychological and structural shifts in how we seek knowledge. Bring your skepticism, your experiences, and most importantly—your questions.
