What we’re about

Doubt. Self-analysis. Willingness to change your mind. These are some of the core values of Socrates Cafe. We are an open philosophy discussion group with no political or religious affiliations, and (hopefully) no ideologies or agendas. Attendees write down a philosophical question that's been puzzling them. (e.g. "What is reality?" "Is an equal society possible?" "Does free will exist?") Two of these questions are blindly chosen out of a bag. Each chosen question then gets about an hour of group discussion. This meetup is inspired by the Socrates Cafe movement (http://www.philosopher.org/socrates-cafeacute.html), but doesn't follow its format exactly.
