How Should We Live with Technology?

In the early 1800s, the Luddites were English workers who banded together to destroy machines of the Industrial Revolution (cotton and wool mills). Why? Machines appeared to be doing what workers once did, and the Luddites perceived this as a threat.

Computers, iPhones, wifi, video games, Netflix, and Facebook. We can avoid some technology (so, thank you for reading this internet post!). But we can't escape it altogether. Is technology neutral, negative, positive, or perhaps even a mixture of all three? What are the benefits of technology as well as some of its drawbacks? Can technology be dangerous?

How should we live in light of technology? This discussion will try to put into perspective some of the challenges that technology poses, but also some ways of thinking through how to make the right use of technology.
