What is the New Era of the World

This installment of Socrates Cafe will be a bit different. I have a strong idea of what this New Era will be. I am going to outline my thoughts and give my sources so we can start the conversation with a theory in place.

The big struggle that is happening now is the breakup between Democracy and Capitalism in Liberal Democracies around the world. (The Age of Humanism is Ending) This was inevitable. Capitalism doesn't need Democracy to function, and in many ways, it is held back by it.

States will start to slide into Illiberal Democracies ( i.e., Turkey, Hungary, & Russia) and then eventually into a State Capitalist system (i.e., China & Singapore)

The purpose of the state in such a society is to protect the interests of shareholders. Their businesses and properties will be protected by increasingly militarized police at home and policified military abroad. Even when the countries infrastructure is in a state of grave decay. A Security State to protect the billionaire from the ire of the disenfranchised. (Global Securitization & Global Palestine)

With the advent of Platforms Capitalism is changing. Whether or not this change means an end to capitalism and moving into something much darker, or if this merely a permutation of the existing system. (Technofeudalism)
