Spooky Movie Night, Part II: ***UPDATE*** PLS READ!
Details
Hi All,
We’ve hit a snag with Spooky Movie Night. The projector screen at Gaithersburg is broken! We wanted to get your feedback on what to do.
There are a few options:
- Project on to the wall without the screen, and watch the movie with some distortion.
- Watch on my TV, which is 42”. This would give the event a sort of “college dorm move night” atmosphere. David suggests splitting the room into a side for the movie, and a side for Halloween party activities.
- Go see a movie at the local theater, and get food afterwards.

My two cents: I think going to a movie theater would be a fun alternative. There is a new version of Frankenstein out at Bethesda Row Cinema, and it’s getting good reviews. Frankenstein is a great option for philosophical reflection and conversation, as it touches upon: scientific ethics, the nature of monstrosity, the responsibilities of a creator, the definition of humanity, and the origins of good and evil.
