What are dreams? Where do they come from? Do they mean anything at all? Are they just the result of the random firing of neurons in the sleeping brain? A sole byproduct of what it means to be conscious? Or do they reflect something within us? Another way the human experience enriches itself through reflection and wonder? A puzzle to be solved? Does everyone dream? Do other species dream? What do they dream about?
The book "When Brains Dream " delves into these and more topics about the sleeping brain and the science of dreams, as far as the scientific method has anything to say about them, leading the reader to new insights and possibilities regarding their origin and meaning, while acknowledging the mystery and subjectivity of the dreaming experience. In the book, the authors highlight the many findings from researchers who worked on analyzing dreams, from Freud and Jung to less recognized but equally crucial thinkers like James Sully, Alfred Maury, Karl Scherner, and others.
❇️Please, read the book and join us for an active exchange of ideas about it. Remember, this is not a debate; we are here to listen and be listened to, not to convince anyone of anything. We gather to speak our thoughts after reading the book and enjoy the company of others while being mindful and respectful. You do not need to understand the full content of the book to join; we are all here to learn and have fun while doing it.❇️
