We will be meeting at Pablo Creek Regional in the Conference Room.

About the Group: This is a Socratic Café where we explore big ideas through open conversation. No philosophy background is needed, just curiosity, and respect.

Background:
Civilizations have always looked to the stars for answers—whether driven by simple curiosity or the deep desire to travel beyond our planet. While initial efforts to explore space in modern times were made strictly by governments, today, private corporations like SpaceX and Blue Origin have taken the initiative in developing new space technologies.

We are no longer just dreaming about going to space; we are actively planning the trip. As we search for harvestable resources and habitable planets that we may one day colonize, our legal and ethical frameworks are lagging far behind. Yet, despite the many problems we face on Earth, we continue to look to the stars, hoping that a solution for our future lies out there.

Discussion Themes:
Terrestrial vs. Space Funding
Legal Rights to Space Exploration & Colonization
Conservation of Alien Life
Space Junk & Orbital Pollution
