Can tech help build a healthier world for Women? While progress is happening, systemic inequity threatens to stifle innovation. Thankfully, there are plenty of opportunities to break barriers and use tech to make an impact of your own.

From the rise of FemTech to the new wave of digital health entrepreneurs, women everywhere are ushering in a new era of wellness. Join SODA Social on 23rd April, where we’ll be teaming up with our friends at Code Institute to explore the world of women’s health in a tech-enabled future.

With the help of our expert guests, we’ll delve into:

  • Building a FemTech product - how do I get started?
  • Standing out from the crowd in a saturated market
  • Tackling the stigma around women's healthcare
  • Current trends and industry breakthroughs

Our panel will include:

  • Adam Brinkley - Host & Chair @ SODA Social
  • Smriti Garga - Senior Product Manager @ Elvie
  • Rachel O'Donnell - Community Content & Engagement Specialist @ Code Institute
  • Bonita Durandt - Operations Manager @ Other World Computing
  • Pablo Solano - Product Design Manager @ Flo Health

Smriti Garga
Smriti is a Senior Product Manager at Elvie based in East London. Having worked in Product Management in diverse industries such as telco, media and femtech in the past 8 years, she is proficient in translating visions into tangible outcomes. She has proven experience with leading teams to adopt a lean mindset and a hypothesis-driven approach.

Currently working at Elvie, an established femtech brand with a mission to empower women with female-first technology, she is in charge of enhancing Elvie’s existing Data Platform Architecture to enable user-level recommendations. Previously at Sky for 2 years working on the Sky Sports App, her focus was to leverage Machine Learning to drive better Content Discovery and Personalisation for engaged sports fans.

She has lived in France, Ireland, Netherlands, Italy and Singapore before coming to London 5 years ago and can fluently speak 4 languages (French, Italian, Hindi and English). In her free time, she likes to spend time doing yoga, dancing Bhangra and reading fiction by mainly female BIPOC authors.

Rachel O'Donnell
Previously, Rachel enjoyed a dynamic career as a celebrity makeup artist and global lead for MAC Cosmetics, working on high-profile events worldwide. However, the pandemic prompted her to reevaluate her priorities and after 15 years of focusing on her creative skills, she decided to nurture her logical side. Rachel quickly immersed herself in coding, completing a Full Stack Diploma with Code Institute. Now, as a Community Content and Engagement Specialist, she combines her passion for coding with her experience in content creation to support others navigating career transitions.

Bonita Durandt
Bonita is the Operations Manager for the Enterprise Storage Group at Other World Computing and is responsible for product design, logistics and day to day operations management of the Jellyfish, a high speed network storage server, and its team of engineers. Bonita has worked in event planning, animation and even recruitment, all focussing on operations and technology.

Pablo Solano
Pablo is the Product Design Manager for the User-centric Stream at Flo and leads the design of all the user journeys and content that go into Flo's five user modes: Period tracking, Trying to conceive, Pregnancy, Partners and Perimenopause. He has worked on UX for global products and services for 10+ years and has been part of building two renowned apps in the femtech space.

Technological advancements have had a profound impact on humanity’s health over the last few years. In light of World Health Day, we must recognise that these new heights are reachable by everyone, no matter how they identify.
