Schedule:

12:30PM Food and Drinks

1:00PM - 4:00 PM Presentation

About the Presentation:

Unity 3D is a powerful game engine that runs on every platform (Win/iOS/Android Phonts/Tablets, PC/Linux/Mac, Web Player/WebGL, Nintendo/XBOX/PS and more). But it has value in the business world as well: reference (https://unity3d.com/showcase/gallery/non-games).

This will be a 3 hour introduction class to learn to make games with Unity. It will also teach a very basic introduction to C#, so you can write your own scripts to make the games more advanced. In particular, we will build a clone of Jenga, a popular game from Hasbro. Its chosen because of its simple nature and excellent use of physics to create a fast but addicting game.

Requirements:

  • Laptop + scroll wheel mouse (touch pad on laptops is harder to use in Unity)

o You don’t need a laptop if you are just going to follow along, but it will be slower, as people will be working along with the instruction.
