Talk #1 "Segment Anything Model: Beyond Import and Predict" The Segment Anything Model (SAM) has emerged as a groundbreaking foundation model for image segmentation. However, applying it to real-world business cases off the shelf is non-trivial. This presentation will introduce SAM, covering its fundamentals and exploring real project examples, along with technical insights into the model.

Talk #2 "NLP Analytics: Challenges and Solutions with GCP Modern Tech Stack" This talk explores the end-to-end journey of building a NLP analytics solution on Google Cloud Platform, starting with the core open-source project and evolving through initial MVP implementations to high-accuracy iterations. Pawel will demonstrate a live prototype, share what didn’t work along the way, and distill key lessons learned for anyone looking to leverage GCP services for natural language understanding within a business intelligence application.

#2 "The Role of Science in Early R&D: A Perspective From Industrial Scientists" by Damyr Hadiiev, R&D Senior Science Practice Leader at SoftServe

We'll navigate the current landscape of these intelligent assistants, examining their capabilities in areas like requirements gathering, code generation, automated testing, and rapid prototyping. Through specific examples and potential use cases, attendees will understand how these technologies can significantly amplify developer output, streamline workflows, and unlock new levels of innovation. 🎤 Taras Rumezhak, Vision Practice Leader at SoftServe R&D with main expertise in Computer Vision, Generative AI, and Responsible AI. He has over 5 years of experience in commercial research and consultancy. With a strong academic background, including an MSc from the University of Oxford and BSc from UCU, he has published cutting-edge research and developed production AI solutions from scratch.

🎤 Damyr Hadiiev, Senior Science Practice Leader at SoftServe R&D, leading high-impact R&D teams with a focus on scientific applications (AI and computational in general) in life sciences, machine perception, computer vision, quantum computing, and physical simulations. With a background in theoretical physics and over a decade of experience across research, engineering, and consulting for enterprise projects, he focuses on the industrialization of deep technical and scientific insights.

🎤 Arkadiusz Drohomirecki, serves as a Lead R&D Engineer, guiding a team dedicated to accelerating SDLC processes by synergizing Large Language Models (LLMs) with programmatic techniques and implementing agentic AI solutions. Bringing over a decade of technical leadership experience, his background encompasses deep expertise in critical areas such as low-latency multimedia streaming, low-level networking, and software security. His R&D focus is on the practical application of emerging technologies, ensuring innovation is grounded in solid software engineering principles for impactful customer and product outcomes.

Talk #2 "A Multi-layered Approach to RAG Hallucination Prevention" This presentation offers practical insights for designing and implementing a robust, factually-grounded Retrieval Augmented Generation system through our multi-layered hallucination prevention methodology. The approach combines five synergistic techniques: advanced query rewriting with Hypothetical Document Embeddings and key term extraction, LLM-powered semantic filtering, automated chain of thought generation, a specialized Guardrails Agent for response oversight, and an agentic dispatcher for iterative answer refinement.
