We’re excited to announce the upcoming Software Crafters Leeds event this June, co-hosted with Lhasa Limited. Lhasa develops scientific software that helps accelerate drug discovery and reduce the need for animal testing.

If you’re interested in how software can be used to predict complex scientific outcomes without requiring specialist domain knowledge, this event is for you.

We’ll begin with a short introduction before moving into a hands-on coding dojo. You’ll have the option to collaborate in groups, pairs, or work individually, depending on your preference.

As always at Software Crafters Leeds, you’re free to choose your preferred programming language and working style. The session focuses on collaborative learning, skill development, and informal networking in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Throughout the evening, you’ll have the opportunity to explore and practice key software craftsmanship techniques, including:

  • Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Pair programming
  • Incremental problem slicing
  • Domain modelling
  • String tokenisation and parsing

Whether you’re a seasoned developer or just starting out, you’re welcome to join, share ideas, discuss best practices, and learn from others. No prior attendance is required, just bring your enthusiasm (and a laptop if you’d like to code along).

Refreshments will be provided, including vegetarian and vegan options.

Join us for an engaging evening at Software Crafters Leeds, where scientific software development takes centre stage.
