AI-powered engineering is rapidly changing how software teams design, build, test and ship code. But beyond the hype, engineering leaders are now facing a much more practical question:

What does successful AI adoption actually look like inside real engineering teams?

We're proud to partner with and Matillion, one of Manchester’s standout technology success stories, for a practical evening exploring the good, the bad and the ugly of AI-powered software delivery.

Rather than focusing on promises of “30x engineering” or the growing noise around AI, this session will explore what is happening on the ground through a series of short lightning talks and practical discussions led by experienced Principal Engineers from Codurance and Matillion.

They will explore:

  • Why craftsmanship, shared understanding, maintainable code and strong engineering guardrails are critical in the age of AI
  • What responsible AI-powered engineering looks like in practice, with real examples of how teams are adopting AI
  • Real-life examples of how to move faster without losing control of quality, security or architecture
  • What AI is actually changing inside engineering teams and where it's accelerating delivery, and where it is introducing risk
  • How AI is changing the way experienced and early-career engineers build, learn and make decisions

This session is designed for software engineers, technical leaders and anyone genuinely interested in how AI is reshaping software delivery in practice.

Expect a no-fluff, practical evening with real-world insight into how teams can use AI to move faster, while still building software that is clear, testable, maintainable, secure and aligned to real business needs.

Note: This is a discussion-based event. While you’re welcome to bring a laptop if you’re taking notes, no live coding or specific software is required to participate.

A big thank you to Matillion for hosting the event at their fantastic office and sponsoring the pizza and drinks.
