After a short intro, we’ll get into groups/pairs or work solo, whatever people feel most comfortable with, and start building.
You choose how you want to work and what language you want to code in. This session is about collaborating with others, becoming a better developer and building your network, in a fun, relaxed environment.
Once again, we'll be sharing ideas, discussing best practices and using this as an opportunity to learn from our fellow SCN coders. There's no need to have attended a previous session so, if you're free, come along.
Pizza and drinks will be provided, with vegetarian and vegan options available. All you need to do is bring a machine if you’d like to code along.
Call 07530189585 if you are struggling to get in.
- Software Crafters North - Repair ShopDepartment Bonded Warehouse, Manchester
Working in tech we face a myriad of problems every day. From technical problems to team problems and business problems. Software Development is a diverse industry with endless options available to tackle the challenges we face.
As Software Craftspeople we believe in the power of the community to help motivate meaningful change in the industry as a whole. This session aims to leverage the communities' collective knowledge and use it to help other solves the issues they face in the industry.
We invite individuals to come along and present their problems (not their solutions!) to the group so that we might attempt to offer potential solutions based upon our collective experiences. No need for slide-shows or data sets! We want to converse and chat about the issues we face. This is not a trial or a lecture! It is about having real people with real issues find resolutions.
Come one, come all and benefit from those around you and if you just fancy coming along to listen, well at least there will be pizza and drinks as usual!

- Software Crafters Manchester: Smarter Prompts, Smarter CodeKraken Technologies , Manchester
Codurance is excited to once again partner with Kraken Technologies for a hands-on Software Crafters session exploring the evolving role of AI tooling in software development, with a focus on how better prompts can lead to better AI model outputs and higher-quality code.
PLEASE SIGN UP FOR THE EVENT VIA EVENTBRITE HERE.
Whether you're already experimenting with AI-assisted tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or JetBrains AI, or just curious about what they can do, this session will provide practical takeaways, lively discussion, and plenty of peer learning.
What to Expect
Prompt Engineering is fast becoming a key skill in modern software engineering. With AI increasingly supporting everything from code generation and refactoring to writing tests and documentation, how we communicate with these tools really matters. In this session, you’ll team up to tackle a live coding challenge, where the prompts are just as important as the code. We'll explore:
● What makes a prompt effective
● How to structure prompts for better outcomes
● Where these tools shine and where they fall shortEach group will include at least one participant with an AI coding tool installed. After the challenge, we'll come back together to compare experiences and share reflections.
Who Should Attend?
This meetup is open to developers, engineers, and tech professionals from any industry, public or private, who are curious about how AI can shape the future of software development.
What to Bring
● Your laptop
● An AI coding assistant if possible (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, JetBrains AI, etc.)Don’t worry if not there’ll be opportunities to collaborate either way!
