Cyprus Software Craftsmanship Community is happy to announce the tech talk "Refactoring in Practice" will be presented on November 10th, at the Department of Computer Science, University of Cyprus. This event is co-organised with Google Developers Group Cyprus and Java User Group Cyprus.

In this tech-talk we will have with us Andreas Loizou, a Software Development Trainer and currently the Director of Software Development at QBeat Technologies.

During this talk, we are going to refactor a legacy code, written in Java. Our purpose is to transform that into readable, maintainable and testable code. We are going to apply several Refactoring Techniques, add unit tests and seams to accomplish our job better, together.

About the Speaker:
Andreas Loizou is a Certified CyHRDA (ΑΝΑΔ) trainer, with expertise in Software Development. He holds a masters in Computer Science from the University of Oxford, and he is currently the Director of Software Development at QBeat Technologies.
He served in senior and leadership positions at organisations across a number of verticals, and delivered of mission-critical systems for international organisations, including Forex, Military Intelligence, Banking and Governmental entities.
He was also an invited mentor at several hackathons (e.g. Bank of Cyprus, KPMG, Ministry of Defence) and an invited speaker at conferences/events (e.g. High Tech Conference Cyprus, PyData).
He is the founder of the Cyprus Software Craftsmanship Community and a Lead Organiser of the Google Developers Group Cyprus.
