Hello .NET Aspire: The local friendly, cloud ready orchestrator

Details

Building modern applications is complex. Running your entire application involves multiple components—a frontend, backend, and database at least—and each requires its own way to start them, and configuration so they all communicate is a nightmare in the cloud and locally. Hello .NET Aspire, the latest framework in the .NET ecosystem. It is an orchestrator for your application stack that is local development friendly, but also ready for cloud-native production. With Aspire, building modern distributed applications no longer requires us to sacrifice the local developer experience.

In this session, we will cover the key features that .NET Aspire brings to our application. A sample codebase will be used to demonstrate the features live. To begin, we will start our application with a single command and review the Aspire dashboard including resource graph and telemetry available. Next, we will review modeling our application in C# and the opinionated service defaults added to our solution. Finally, we’ll see new test automation possibilities thanks to Aspire.

Regardless of previous .NET experience, attendees of this session will leave with a clear understanding of what Aspire offers and how to start integrating it into their existing applications.
