Software Lancaster Talks with Distinguished Professor Steve Hodges
Details
Join us for our next Software Lancaster Talks on 19th May 2026 at 6pm at the Fraser House Hub in Lancaster.
In the third session of this year, Distinguished Professor Steve Hodges will take us beyond the prototype and share how to turn device concepts into viable low-volume products.
Evolving a digital device prototype beyond a one-off can be surprisingly difficult. Steve will discuss a new paradigm for digital device innovation - isotyping - that helps innovators create consistent, reliable copies of their hardware for experimentation and evaluation. Isotyping also supports a natural progression to viable low-volume production.
Steve is a Distinguished Professor at Lancaster University's School of Computing and Communications where he creates new digital devices that change what people do with technology. He works at all scales from prototype to production, and his work has contributed directly to millions of devices with tens of millions of users.
