Join us for the launch of Software Talks, a new tech meetup series! Be part of an exciting journey — a community where we share ideas, discuss innovations, and connect through technology.

We’ll dive into topics like software development, architecture, and frontend/backend technologies, with plenty of time for Q&A and casual discussions.

For our first meetup, we’ll feature two engaging presentations:
1️⃣ Engineering at Frontify – René Bernhardsgrütter

Explore the principles and practices that shape software engineering at Frontify. This session delves into the evolution, current methodologies, and strategies behind Frontify's successes and challenges. Learn how we approach problem-solving, optimize processes, and consistently deliver value to our customers. Gain insight into the engineering culture that drives innovation and excellence at Frontify.

René is the Director of Architecture at Frontify, where he’s been making an impact for the past six years. He focuses on improving product development processes and helping teams grow and design effective solutions. When he finds the time, he enjoys cleaning up code.

2️⃣ Can Postgres cover your NoSQL needs? – David Buchmann

Postgres is famous for its support for SQL data. However, Postgres also has powerful capabilities to work with JSON. I will show how to leverage the various JSON functions of modern Postgres to work with your less structured data. I will also show how to use some of that functionality from within Doctrine.

David Buchmann works at Liip AG as a Symfony expert. He's active in several open-source projects, notably the FOSHttpCache library and the
HTTPlug client abstraction. When he's not coding, he enjoys traveling
with his girlfriend, listening to music, and playing games such as Magic The Gathering.
