Design of Software Freedom License SFL, an algebraic approach (19 Nov, 1830hrs)

Details
TOPIC
Design of a new Software Freedom License (SFL), an algebraic approach (Sat, 19 Nov, 1830 hrs).
MOTIVATION
We present an algebraic model of software license in terms of conditional grant of rights and derivative work building on the ideas in the published research literature.
Algebraic thinking is a crucial and fundamental element of mathematical thinking and reasoning. It initially involves recognizing patterns and general relationships among entities and objects.
Since the focus is on Software Freedom, the clauses of the software license that establish conditions for such freedom, its preservation and propagation.
- SFL vs GPLv3
- SFL vs ASLv2
- SFL vs AGPLv3
We also discuss about SFL in the context of the Turkish Copyright Law and its amendments inter alia.
Please note this session builds on the core concepts related to copyright law, conveyance and software licensing discussed at 'congenital defect of opensource (Sat, 5th November, 1630 hrs)'.
Your active participation is solicited and appreciated during the session.
