Join us Wednesday May 8 with Daniel Doubrovkine (aka "dB"), Head of Engineering at Art.sy, where he will be presenting "Building and Scaling a Test Driven Culture" as a part of AppNexus' Engineering@Scale series.
We'll have pizza and beers at 6:30pm, and the presentation will begin at 7pm.
Building and Scaling a Test Driven Culture:
There are many common misconceptions about larger organizations and the kind of QA processes that transpire through their software development lifecycle. Small organization are believed to be test-driven and agile, while bigger companies are frequently labelled as slow, if not paralyzed by waterfall bureaucracy. This couldn't be further from the truth: many large closed and open-source projects have grown out of small endeavors into massive codebases, without compromising on their testing strategies. This hasn't happened, naturally, without challenges.
In his talk, Daniel will examine tools and approaches for testing rapidly growing applications, born in the open-source community. He will discuss software architectures that make testing easy and will focus on test automation for API backends as well as the notoriously difficult UI testing. He will also present testing from a team organizational perspective and, finally, propose ways to foster a test-driven culture and, where necessary, change.
