Hike to Boccard Point & Little Pilot Peak

Details
Bring water, lunch, and snacks. Pack a jacket for possibly cool morning temperature. The trailhead will be accessed via Baldy Creek Road, a narrow but good gravel road. There is a limited amount of parking, so I encourage carpooling. Dogs are welcome.
The trail to Boccard Point cuts along an abandoned roadbed with a short spur trail at the end before approaching a stunning vista of Pilot Rock, Mount Ashland, Mount Eddy, and Mount Shasta. We will likely have this area to ourselves due to being a quiet part of the Soda Mountain Wilderness. The trail is a moderate gain of about 600 feet and 4.2 miles round-trip.
After retracing our steps from Boccard Point to the trailhead, we will probably have time to wonder down the Pacific Crest Trail for an additional 2-miles round-trip to Little Pilot Peak. After returning to the trailhead, the total mileage would be about 6.2.
Since this is wilderness area, my choice is to offer the outing to a smaller group. If you are unable to attend, please change your RSVP at the earliest notice. Additionally, if a guest can’t attend, make the change on your RSVP. At the bottom of the event page there is a place where an individual member can change their RSVP. In doing so, this courtesy affects the status of those who are on the waitlist.
