Cool off in the Redwoods & on the Coast!

The Damnation Creek Trail is a prestine trail that makes its way through the redwood forest of Del Norte Redwoods State Park (also part of Redwood National Park). The finale of the Damnation Creek Trail is stepping onto the beach on a remote section of the California Coast.

The return is a 1,000 foot ascent back through the California Coastal Redwoods. Fresh coastal air will make this a pleasant experience as we take our time on our return making the most of every turn in the trail.

At 7:30am, we'll meet at the Albertsons parking lot in Central Point. For those coming from the Grants Pass area, there is a 2nd meetup location at 8am at Albertsons, 1690 Allen Creek Road, Grants Pass.

From Grants Pass, it's a little over 2 hours to the trailhead. We'll make a restroom stop along the way.

The Damnation Creek Trailhead is located at coordinates 41.64749, -124.11278. It is on the ocean side of Highway 101, approximately 10.5 miles south of Crescent City (8.5 miles south of the Elk Valley Casino). In Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park, there is a small pullout parking area on the right marked for the Damnation Creek trailhead.

The 7:30pm return time includes the option for a meal stop on the return. Otherwise, ir's possible to be back earlier.
