SONGER BUTTE

I’m craving some new territory!

Songer Butte is on a peninsula at Emigrant Lake. The lake water level probably will be low this time of the year, but hopefully the autumn rain received helped. This will be my first hike in the area, and according to maps there are several trail options. I’m planning on beginning at Songer Wayside and hiking along the lake before turning away from the shore towards the butte. On the return route, we can take different trails for a change in scenery. Estimated length will be 4-5 miles with a moderate 645 feet of gain. Bring water, lunch, and snacks. Pack layers for cool weather. Dogs are welcome, but I strongly advise having your canine friend on leash. There have been health advisories pertaining to quality of the water at Emigrant Lake.
