JACKSONVILLE FOREST PARK
Details
Not to be confused with Jacksonville “Woodlands” near the Britt Gardens, the Jacksonville “Forest Park” is a separate trail system where there is a vast option of interconnecting routes. Join me on a loop route on the Canyon Falls, Canyon Vista, and Canyon Rangers trails, returning to P4 parking area via the Cantrall Creek Trail. This is a moderate route of about 3.8-miles. I recommend sturdy footwear for a few steep pitches along the way and possible wet trail conditions. As always, bring water, snacks, and pack a jacket. Dogs are welcome, but be prepared to have your canine friend on leash.
If you would like to meet at the trailhead take Highway 238 past the Britt Gardens for about a mile and turn right on Jacksonville Reservoir Road. Upon entering the Jacksonville Forest Park, continue on the road through the park. Stay right at an intersection and proceed up a hill to P4 parking area where the hike will start.
