Stein Butte dayhike

Spectacular hike with incredible views of the Siskiyou Crest, along with unusual tree species and wildflowers. This is a strenuous hike, gaining 2,400 feet in 4.7 miles, 9.4 miles round-trip. Forecast for Saturday is looking good: clear skies and cool. Bring layers, rain gear (one never knows!), lots of water (2 qts), food and trekking poles. We'll take an extended break at the top. Oddly, this trail allows motorcycles, but I've rarely encountered them. The motorcyclists have always been courteous and there have been no issues.
