Rogue River Trail to the Historic Whisky Creek Miner’s Cabin
Details
Bring water, lunch, and snacks. Pack a jacket for cooler morning temperature. Dogs are welcome. I recommend having your canine friend on leash due to steep ledges along the trail and abundant poison oak. Insect repellent will help keep ticks off of you.
Starting at the Grave Creek boat ramp, this scenic hike along the renowned Rogue River Trail is intermediate level of 7-miles round-trip with about 300 feet of elevation gain. The narrow trail and ledges along parts of the route may cause some to be uneasy. Sturdy footwear will provide better traction where it’s rocky, as well as the crossing of some small streams. Also, the use of trekking poles helps with stability. Lunch can be at the historic miner’s cabin at Whisky Creek, or along the shore of the river. This will be our return point.
