Creative Synthesis: A Hands - On Exploration of Sound and Technology
Join The SAFFRON Project for a 12-week immersive course in sound design, synthesis, and creative audio practice. From the fundamentals of electricity and acoustics to advanced modular patching, sequencing, and spatial design, Creative Synthesis offers a rare opportunity to learn by doing, with professional instruments, software, and collaborative instruction.
Whether you’re new to synthesis or an experienced musician seeking deeper technical grounding, this course bridges physics, electronics, and artistry.
Participants will:
• Build signal chains and instruments in software (Virtual CV Racks, DAWs, etc.) and hardware (synthesizers, modular systems).
• Explore synthesis methods: subtractive, additive, FM, granular, and physical modeling.
• Gain hands-on practice with mixing, psychoacoustics, and live sound design.
• Develop original sonic works for performance, installation, or personal projects.
