Solaris Talks: Evolution of Fintech in China, Kenya and Germany

Details

👋 Hello everyone,
Welcome to our new meetup - a panel discussion on
Evolution of Fintech in China, Kenya and Germany

Fintech, which at the broadest level refers to the application of technology to finance, can be traced back to the late 19th century. But only in the 21st century did it gain traction and significantly evolve after banks went online.

The Covid-19 pandemic accelerated global Fintech growth and further underscored the need for Fintech organizations to be more innovative and financially inclusive towards both individuals and businesses.

In this panel discussion, Bingting, Brian and Tristan will walk you through the evolution of banking and Fintech in China, Kenya and Germany from their work experience as well as their personal observations from their home countries.

We will discuss the similarities and differences in the development in the different markets, explore how the underlying challenges played a key role in the different approaches M-Pesa and Solaris took in crafting and building their products, and brainstorm solutions and the future outlook of Fintech.
