Are you ready to make an impact in Venice, serving our neighbors at St. Robert's Center?
We're partnering with the nonprofit and Catholic Charities-supported St. Robert’s Center to host an extended resource day for unhoused neighbors, financially unstable families, and expectant mothers in the Venice area.
This site regularly operates a wellness and respite drop-in center. On this special day, we'll be helping them expand services with food, hygiene, games, and warm human connection.

By welcoming guests, serving a warm meal, and offering connection through games and community activities, we can bring dignity and relief to those facing housing and financial insecurity. When we meet urgent needs together, our whole city grows stronger.
👕 What to Wear
- Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
- Closed-toe shoes only
- Leave jewelry and bags at home
- If you have a Better Angels T-shirt, wear it proudly! If not, you'll get one.
🧰 What’s Provided
All supplies, tools, and materials will be provided on-site.
👶 Who Can Volunteer?
All ages are welcome! We’ll have family-friendly activities throughout the day.
🛠 What You’ll Do (Based on Your Preferences & the Need)
- Cook and serve a warm, delicious lunch - 9:00 a.m. - Noon. (We'll need at least 5 people to do this)
- Clean up the kitchen and put away cooking supplies - 10:30 a.m. - noon (2-3 people)
- Welcome guests - answer questions and assist with connecting them to the provided resources: 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
- Distribute clothing and hygiene supplies: 8 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
🙋 Volunteer Roles Include: - Cook, Chopping, Serving a Warm Meal
- Coffee/water/lemonade station
- Guest greeter and counter
- Guest belongings attendant
- Hygiene distributor
- Game/activity coordinator
- Event photographer (focus on volunteers, guest dignity always respected)
