Hello all,

This book has been on my list for a long time and I would look forward to an engaging discussion on it!

Sara Ahmed’s The Feminist Killjoy Handbook — a sharp, generous, and deeply relatable exploration of what it means to speak up, stand out, and resist the pressures to “keep things comfortable.”

Ahmed’s “feminist killjoy” is the one who refuses to smile through injustice, who disrupts the dinner table when harmful norms go unquestioned, who transforms discomfort into a tool for collective change. Together, we’ll unpack how everyday acts of dissent — in our homes, workplaces, and communities — become acts of feminist world-making.

Whether you’re new to Ahmed’s work or a longtime fan, this session will be a space for dialogue, reflection, and maybe even a bit of joyful killjoy-ing together.

📖 What to expect:
• A short introduction to Ahmed’s key ideas
• Group discussion on what it means to be a “killjoy” in our own lives
• Optional creative reflections or journaling prompts

💬 Suggested reading: Introduction + Chapters 1–2 (but come as you are — all are welcome!)

Bring your thoughts, your questions, and your inner killjoy — let’s read, reflect, and imagine new ways to live and resist together.
