Make “Smart” Climate Signs for the PDX People's Climate March

Protest signs inevitably reduce complex issues like global warming to simplistic slogans. So if you want to write the smartest slogan possible, one that fits well with the best available science, you might want to learn more about what that science says first.

Therefore, the day before the People's Climate March and its Portland companion event (http://act.350.org/event/peoples_climate/7762), we invite you to join Sierra Club activist and environmental blogger Ben Sibelman for a 30-minute overview, about evenly divided between the frightening facts revealed by climate science and the exciting solutions emerging from energy research labs, environmental nonprofits, and eco-villages around the world. Please include any burning questions you'd like to cover with your RSVP.

After the presentation, we'll break out the poster board, markers, and inspiring background music and get on with the sign-making! This event is completely free and comes with one complimentary sheet of poster board per person, though donations will be gladly accepted, and of course we'll expect to see you at the march (http://act.350.org/event/peoples_climate/7762) on Sunday!
