What we're about
This site has been set up to open the public square of debate that we started in London to a global audience through the use of Webinars (or online seminars.) GlobalNet21 (21st Century Network) started in April 2007 to discuss some of the great issues of the 21st century and then follow this up with further debate and action. It was about enlarging the Public Square where debate takes place using social networks to bring new audiences of people into that debate. We have grown rapidly with over 2500 people on our London meetup site, almost 2,000 on our linkedin site 1,000 friends on myspace and now a growing global presence on twitter and other social networks. In the UK we hold public engagement meetings regularly that are well attended and involve citizens, NGO’s, corporations and decision makers. We are interested in involving those globally who would like to join with us and engage in the debate about our future – a future that needs both thought leadership and engagement. Joining in on our discussions through webinars is one way of doing just that. The purpose is to create and expand engagement in the public square between citizens as well as corporations, government and NGOs where there is a common concern for the sustainability of both our planet and the people on it. We are working with Digital Samba On Sync who are allowing us to use their webinar platform to develop global discussion on 21st Century issues. We are grateful for their support.
