Dear Trailblazers! Let's do it!
This trail run is for beginners, but, it will be great if experienced trail runners join and share tips. After all, we want to build a community that is into trail running.
The assumption is that you at least run a little bit (street running). If you are not used to cardio, you don't want to start on the trail.
We will meet by the pond at 8:15 am and do a small warm-up and stretching. We will go over trail running basics. We will start running around 8:30 am.
This route does not have too many rocks. It does have an ascent, but, not as steep as the main trail that goes up the mountain.
We will go by the pond and join the pipeline trail. We go up and duck into the woods. We will run 1.0 miles one way, and back. We can take breaks if someone needs to. It is a beginner run.
What you need:
Highly Recommended - Trail running shoes. These have bigger lugs and stiffer soles than sneakers/ running shoes. You might be able to get by with sneakers for this one. But, if you want to get into it, you need to get trail running shoes.
A small bottle of water/ Gatorade - Recommended
Running backpack/ belt if you need
A snack for after the run
